The new Police Emergency Response Unit prevents, averts, handles and normalises extraordinary events and crises. The unit consolidates the emergency squad, bomb service, crises- and hostage negotiation and helicopter service to encourage interdisciplinary training and cooperation. Cargo helicopters stand by to efficiently transport trained police officers with necessary equipment to the entire country. The state-of-the-art training facilities will gather special police officers from throughout the country, providing opportunities for joint training sessions with the Norwegian Armed Forces as well as international coordination.
