The Belltower
In 1950, the village of Curon was submerged to create Lake Resia for hydroelectric power, leaving only the 14th-century bell tower partially visible above the water. This project proposes a floating restaurant that gently wraps around the tower, “peeling” away to reveal its historic form. The design includes a staircase and stairwell leading to the top of the tower, inviting visitors to experience the site from a new perspective. The structure uses semi-transparent and transparent materials, with a roof covered in stretched fabric to maintain a light, ephemeral presence on the water.
